Museion Poloniae Maioris. Rocznik Naukowy Muzeów Wielkopolskich, stanowi wydawnictwo naukowe Fundacji Muzeów Wielkopolskich, w którym są prezentowane studia i materiały związane z historią muzealnictwa w Wielkopolsce oraz opracowania ukazujące ich aktualną działalność. Publikowane są w nim materiały odtwarzające historię powstawania zbiorów, gabinetów starożytności, muzeów i biografii osób, które w różnych latach je organizowały, oraz dyskusje metodologiczne i metodyczne związane ze współczesną działalnością i potrzebami muzealnictwa, w tym muzealnictwa typu skansenowskiego, a także zagadnieniami związanymi z działalnością konserwatorską i jej potrzebami, edukacją w muzeach (w tym sposobami animacji historii i prezentacji środowiska naturalnego), problemom związanym z formami nowoczesnego wystawiennictwa, a także dokumentowaniem bieżących działań różnych muzeów i „skansenów”, dzięki którym pamięć o przeszłości była i jest przechowywana dla przyszłych pokoleń.

 

Museonia Poloniae Maioris. The Science Annals of the Wielkopolska Museums is a publication of the Foundation for Wielkopolska Museums which presents studies and materials related to the history of collecting in Wielkopolska and articles on the museums current operations. The Annual contains materials presenting the history of the specific collections, antiquity cabinets, museums and biographies of the people who organized various institutions in different times. There are also methodological discussions of contemporary museum operations and needs, including open-air museums. Attention is also paid to issues related to antique restoration and related needs, to education in museums (ways of animating history and presentation of the natural environment), problems faced by the modern exhibition movement as well as documenting initiatives launched by specific museums and open-air museums which contribute to the preservation of the past for future generations.
